What is the JIS mark certification system?: JIS(Japanese Industrial Standards) is an abbreviation for 『Japanese Industrial
Standards』, which defines standard values and standards for test methods to confirm the
types, dimensions, quality, performance, and safety of mining and industrial products. If
the product meets the relevant JIS standards through a third-party certification body,
JIS mark can be displayed.

JIS certification mark notation

Information on the use of the JIS certification mark

1. The JIS certification mark may be marked on the main body, container, packaging, or invoice of mineral products certified by the Korea Standards Association during the validity period of the certification contract between the Korea Standards Association and the certified customer.

2. The JIS certified company is responsible for the use of JIS certification marks and attachments, and the marking method shall be indicated as follows based on the "Management Guidelines for the Display of JIS Marks, etc." as specified in the attached JIS Q 1001.

Indication of JIS mark, etc.

The JIS mark shall be in a single color and displayed in a size of 5 mm or more in direct thickness.
The name or abbreviation of the association and the number, type or grade of the Japanese Industrial Standards shall be displayed near the JIS mark. (Refer to the figure below)

Indication of supplementary notes

Along with the indication of the JIS certification mark, the following indications specified by the relevant Japanese business standards and other associations are indicated.

JIS certification can be revoked and procedure

Cases in which the Korean Standards Association (KSA) can revoke JIS certification

- Misuse and omission of JIS certification mark and mark of supplementary note.
※Note [JIS certification mark notation]
- Where an industrial, etc. subject to certification is not suitable for JIS certification.
- Where the company fails to respond accurately or quickly to the association's request for corrective and preventive measures.
- Where a company refuses, interferes with, or avoids the certification maintenance audit, etc.
※Excluding cases where the company gives up the extension of the certification maintenance.

Procedure in case JIS certification is revoked

Discovering and notifying KSA of problems: In the case of JIS certification cancellation, KSA notifies the customer and requests correction.

Confirmation and determination of KSA: After checking the customer's corrections and results, decide whether to cancel the certification

Notification of cancellation of JIS certification to the relevant company: Prepare and send an official document including the date of cancellation of certification, reasons for cancellation, and information that you can file an objection against the association and send it to the certification acquisition company
